IS TROPICAL
IS TROPICAL are a four piece from England. Formed in London in 2009, the band was originally a trio; they released their debut single 'When O’ When' on Hit Club Records in January 2010, produced by Al Al Al. In June 2010 they signed to French label Kitsuné where they recorded two full-length studio albums. Their debut album Native to was released in June 2011 followed by an EP, titled Flags which was the culmination of their extensive global travels since their inception. Their second studio album I'm Leaving was released in May 2013 also on Kitsuné. In 2014 IS TROPICAL signed to New York based independent label Axis Mundi.
IS TROPICAL released the first part of their third album Black Anything in December 2014. The final installments were released in March 2016.

Each vinyl will be an artwork and a tribute to the continent it was recorded in. When stacked on top of each other, the 5 unique etchings on the center of the otherwise transparent vinyl will create the globe, unifying the concept as a whole.
"Over the past 7 years we've been able to travel the world and meet the most amazing people and we're extremely privileged to have done so. It's easy to forget how simple it is for us to cross borders, get visas, be welcomed by locals and treated with such respect everywhere we go. Unfortunately not everyone has the same experience. There are millions of people who have been displaced through no fault of their own and find themselves confronted by hostile environments without any assistance. We fully support the efforts of those who try to make refugees lives better and safer and will be donating all profits from the sales of our 'Black Anything' vinyl for the next month to the International Refugee Assistance Project.
Our album 'Black Anything' was the culmination of all our amazing border defying experiences, and would love to turn our experiences into something that can benefit others."
'Black Anything' is released on five 10” transparent picture disc installments, containing 2 tracks per vinyl and displaying the continent in which it was conceived. The five vinyls when displayed on top of each other create the globe, unifying the concept as a whole - each vinyl existing as an artwork and tribute to the continent it was recorded in.
